What is Kit Postale

The Kit Postale is a set of paper forms made available at the authorized post offices ('Amico' desk) which are used to submit the application for release or renewal of residence permitThe kit is free and contains two main forms to fill out.

Kit Contents

• Module 1: Applicant's personal details (name, surname, date of birth, address, tax code, etc.)
• Module 2: sPECification for the type of permit requested (work, family, study, etc.)
• Envelope: to contain forms and photocopies of documents
• Received: issued by the post office after delivery

How to Fill Out Form 1

Form 1 must be completed in block letters with black pen. Enter:

1. Complete personal data (as per passport)
2. Address of residence or domicile in Italy
3. Tax ID code
4. Phone number (important: this is where you will receive the appointment SMS)
5. Request type: first issue or renewal

How to Fill Out Form 2

Module 2 changes depending on the type of residence permit:

• employee work: employer data, contract
• Self-employment: VAT number, Chamber of Commerce registration
• Family reasons: family member data, kinship relationship
• Study: institute data, registration

Documents to Attach to the Kit

• Photocopy of the passport or equivalent document (All pages with personal data, entry visas, and stamps). The document must be valid.
• Photocopy of the current residence permit, front and back (mandatory for renewal, updating, and conversion)
• Photocopy of the tax code
• SPECfical documentation for the type of permit
• 4 passport photos in color, white background, size 45x35 mm (to be brought in Questura to the call)
• Do not attach originals — A4 photocopies only

Costs of Kit Postale

The paper kit is freeMandatory government costs are:

• Postal bulletin for PdS production: €30.46 (current account 67422402)
• Contribution (based on the duration of the permit):
  • €0 — permit up to 3 months (e.g. seasonal) or minors
  • €40 — permit from 3 months to 1 year
  • €50 — permit for 1 to 2 years
  • €100 — long-term EC permit
• Shipping kit to the post office: €30,00
• Revenue stamp: €16,00

Exemptions from stamp duty (€16)

I am exempt from the revenue stamp: minors under 18, permit updates, conversions, duplicates, and assignments.

• 2-year job renewal: €30,46 + €50 + €30 + €16 = €126,46
• 1-year job renewal: €30,46 + €40 + €30 + €16 = €116,46
• Minor: €30,46 + €0 + €30 + €0 = €60,46
• Update: €30,46 + €0 + €30 + €0 = €60,46
• Long-term CE: €30,46 + €100 + €30 + €16 = €176,46

Where to Present the Kit

The kit must be presented at a authorized post office with the "Amico" counter. Not all post offices accept the kits: you can check the list of authorized offices by calling the toll-free number 803.160.

Important: you have to introduce yourself in person with the original passport for identification. The envelope must be handed over open (the operator seals it after the check). The forms must be signed: without a signature, the application will not be accepted.

What Happens Next

After delivery of the kit, you will receive a received with two important codes: the Insured Code and the Hologram Code. Keep them carefully: you need them to access the Immigration Portal And check the status of your application online.

The postal receipt is valid as temporary residence permitYou will then receive a text message with the appointment date in Questura, which you will need to bring with you: your original passport, 4 passport photos (45x35 mm, white background), and the second receipt for the payment slip. In Questura, photodactyloscopic (fingerprint) checks will be performed.
